Civilization at its best
You're twenty minutes by ferry from Horseshoe Bay. Living at Cowan Point means that you'll soon be able to virtually step out of your front door and be on a passenger shuttle to downtown Vancouver that will bring Island life even closer to town. There's no need to deprive yourself of any of the cultural, professional, social or intellectual treasures of Metro Vancouver. The thing is, you don't have to be marinating in the noise, traffic and pollution of the city when you're not enjoying these things.
And don't forget that there are many urban conveniences right on the island. The Ruddy Potato offers fresh organic produce, fair trade/shade grown coffee and meat, deli and baked goods that compare favorably with Whole Foods or Urban Fare. Compare the truffles of Cocoa West Chocolatier with the best you've had anywhere. Blue Eyed Mary's and Tuscany are among the best eateries in all of BC. The benefits of being an island so close to Vancouver are not limited to the ease of getting there and back. You'll find some people on Bowen who are as cosmopolitan as any you'll find downtown. They've just chosen to live a different life.
